Chief Accountant

Location: Zhytomyr oblast, Ukraine


We are looking for a Chief Accountant for a European product company. You'll be responsible for efficient workflow in the accounting department of 10 people, ensure bookkeeping and reporting according to Ukrainian legislation, and provide corporate business reporting according to IFRS.


Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of proven accounting background

  • 3 years as Chief Accountant, preferably in big production companies

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting concepts, local GAAP and IFRS, intercompany transactions

  • Proactive approach and capability to collaborate with different level of corporate stakeholders

  • Strong analytical skills, goal-oriented and practical problem-solving approach

  • Proven ability to work in a dynamic multi-task environment

  • Sound usage of 1C, MS Excel, and openness to applying other corporate systems/applications

  • Ability to develop reports and excel tools for data analysis

  • Good communication skills and tendency to create effective business relationships

  • Excellent interpersonal and contemporary team management skills

  • A team player with motivation, ambition, and innovative ideas

  • Upper-intermediate English, verbal and written

Nice to have:

  • Prior experience with business intelligence software and ERP systems would be a plus

  • Accountant, tax advisor, and chartered accountant certificates are welcome

  • Knowledge of any European language is a competitive advantage

  • Master’s Degree in Finance / Accounting / Economy is an asset


Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver local tax, financial, and other local obligatory reports for 3 legal entities

  • Perform BS and P&L accounts according to IFRS, controls, reconciliations, and analysis

  • Manage/Lead local accounting team of 10 subordinates

  • Drive and support for internal and external audits

  • Participate in financial planning and analysis

  • Cooperate with EU Group accounting teams

  • Provide guidance and advice from a taxation point of view for tax risks purposes

  • Representing the company in front of Tax Municipality in case of tax control

  • Participate in financial standards setting and in the forecast process

  • Reporting directly to Financial Director at Headquarter

  • Ensure timely monthly closing
