We are looking for a skilled Editor-in-Chief to oversee our company’s daily publishing operations. You will supervise Managing Editor and Assistant in the office, and 15-20 remote copywriters. Our ideal candidate combines the practical focus of an operations manager with the innovativeness of a writer. You should be able to suggest ideas for stories and see them through to publication of smart entertainment content, mainly for USA, Canada, Australia, and UK audience. We expect excellent organizational as well as a leadership skill.
Requirements
Proficiency in English C1-C2
Managerial experience of remote team/s
Expert knowledge about international media standards
Knowledge about quality control analysis
Awareness of major programming languages and operating systems
Excellent verbal and written communicating skills
Expert listening skills and ability to interact with people effectively
Exceptional ability in copywriting and editing
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Reliability, efficiency, attention to detail
Nice to have
Proven work experience in English-speaking media
Experience with graphic design: collages, illustrations for articles
BSc/BA in journalism, media communication or relevant
Responsibilities
Manage the office team and remote copywriters
Growing office team of editors and remote team of copywriters
Plan and manage all daily operations of editorial office
Content quality control: text, photos, resources that were used, compliance with the policy
Hire, coach and supervise talents
Onboarding for newbies
Make sure that the rules of media are followed
Research, exploring the best market practices in the field of entertaining content writing
Best practices implementation for our product
Participation in product strategy development
Ensure that the facts, dates, and data mentioned in the articles are correct
Oversee proofreading procedures
Assist in evaluating finalized copy for compliance with policies, style and tone
