Senior Accountant (Brussels)

Location /relocation: Brussels, Belgium


We support Ukrainians, and we are looking for a Senior Accountant!


Requirements:

  • At least 5−10 years of relevant experience (ideally in a corporate sector)

  • You are fluent in English (spoken and written)

  • Knowledge of French/Dutch is a competitive advantage

  • You possess excellent organizational skills

  • You have a critical mindset and like to challenge the status quo

  • You possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • You are proficient in Excel

  • You have a can-do attitude and easily take initiative

  • You are a team player and foster open communication

  • You can adapt yourself to a fast-moving environment

  • You are IT literate, knowledge and experience with SAP are a plus

  • You have an honest communication style and can easily connect with people having other professional backgrounds

  • Nice to have a bachelor’s degree in accounting


Job Purpose:

  • G/L accounting and controlling of multiple corporate legal entities

  • Maintain transparent, detailed, and auditable work schemes

  • Improve/automate accounting and administrative processes in HQ

  • Ensure accounting and tax compliance

  • Support internal and external stakeholders in connection to the holding/corporate entities


Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Corporate & Holdings Accounting Manager and joining a team of 4 colleagues

  • All-round G/L accounting for the Holding and Financing entities with corporate activities and important financing activity in Belgium and Luxemburg

  • Accounts Payable controlling: 3rd party — IC invoices and expenses

  • Accounts Receivable: billing of intra-group recharges and service fees

  • Monthly closing process: accrual accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and variance reconciliation

  • Assistance with the preparation of the annual statutory accounts and corporate tax returns

  • Dealing with (ad-hoc) requests from other departments such as Treasury, Tax, Legal, HR, and the Consolidation department

  • Support the annual audit process with the external auditors

  • Continued digitization and automation of accounting processes
